His group has identified brain abnormalities in psychiatric conditions using brain imaging techniques and psychometry in adult or adolescent patients, for >20 years. He reported alterations in regional function, structure, and biochemistry related with depression stages, schizophrenia dimensions, and alcohol or cannabis addiction features. His findings informed a prevention campaign, and a French law in 2017, aiming to protect vulnerable paediatric subgroups. He coordinated clinical trials which identified the effects of antidepressant or antipsychotic compounds on their catecholamine sites of action, in relation with the treatment response. Ongoing work tackles the interface between longitudinal datasets and trajectory modelling in adolescents and juveniles.
